• Before I share the next link, I want to speak a little to why emotional purity is important.  Here is something Sarah Mally wrote in “Before You Meet Prince Charming.”

“But think of it this way:  How would your future husband feel if he knew that some other guy had known your deepest thoughts, dreams, fears, and emotions?  What would he think if some other man had known  you even better than he himself knows you?  Or how would you like it if some other girl had dozens of long, deep, intimate conversations with your husband and knew practically everything there was to know about him?”

I might address this more later.  But here is another very good post that I found on the blog “Girl Talk”. http://girltalk.blogs.com/girltalk/2005/09/q_a_1.html I hope it causes you to think. ; )

  • Emotional purity.  It’s something that girls don’t tend to think about (or at least I didn’t until recently ; ).  We always hear people talking about the need to be pure in our relationships and the first thing that comes to mind is being physically pure.  We rarely think past the physical to the heart of the matter.  Namely, emotions.  But God tells us in

    Matthew 15:19-20a

“For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.  These are what make a man ‘unclean’…”

Your actions start with the thoughts of your heart.  I always hear people talking about being pure in your actions, but we need to get to the heart of the matter. ; )  We need to desire purity in our hearts and search out what God has to say about it.  Such as

    Titus 2:11-12

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.  It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”

Change does not start with the outside, it starts with your thoughts and emotions.  If we desire to live pure lives, we must first have pure thoughts.

    Proverbs 23:26

“My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways.”

We cannot be pure in heart if we are always thinking and fantasizing about boys and who we think is “the one”.  Our desire should be for God, and God alone.

    Psalm 73:25

“Whom have I in heaven but you?  And earth has nothing I desire besides you.”

I’ll share more of thoughts on this subject later.  For now, I’d like to share one of the wonderful websites I found the other day.  It’s called Issacharian Daughters.  Here is a link to the website. http://issacharian.com/index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,detail,0&cntnt01articleid=44&cntnt01dateformat=%25d%2F%25m%2F%25Y&cntnt01returnid=48.  It is an article on emotional purity.  Here is a link to the homepage. http://issacharian.com/index.php?page=home  Genevieve Smith, the author of the website, is a very insightful young lady, and I’m learning a lot going through her newsletter archive.  I’ll probably be sharing more of her articles in the future.

    God Bless!

  • Whilst purusing the internet today I came across some very good websites.  I’ll have to share most of them later, but I came across this one blog called “Emotional Purity” by Heather Paulsen.  She also has written a book called, can you guess? ; ), “Emotional Purity”.   From what I’ve seen of the blog, it looks very good.  I came across this one post. http://emotionalpurity.blogspot.com/2008/01/012808-its-not-my-fault_28.html  It’s called “It’s Not My Fault”.  She does a good job pointing out the problem with people today refusing to take responsibility for their actions.  Hope you enjoy!

  • I have a bunch of clothes that need to be fixed and fabric that needs to be used on the floor of my closet.  This has been sitting there for about a year and a half now.  Today, I finally got fed up with the mess in my closet, so I started taking stuff out of my closet to be put …. somewhere else I suppose.  Some of the clothes were not folded, so just now I went up to begin folding them.  That’s when I found it.  A bug, crawling on one of my shirts.  It looked like a smaller, thinner, lighter roly poly.  I showed it to my dad, and he thought it might be a cloth eating bug.  Terrified I ran upstairs to our computer to google “cloth eating bugs”.  I believe that bug was a carpet beetle.  To get rid of carpet beetles you have to completely clean everthing cloth like that you own.  Everything in the closet, dresser, and the carpet.  My room is a mess right now.  And now I have to completely clean it!  This is not going to be a fun next couple of days, that’s for sure.  I hope we won’t have to use insecticides though.  That might include pulling up the edges of the carpet.  So if you all could earnestly pray that this would be solved quickly!

(I also read that these things eat hair!)

  • On Saturday my family participated in a Speech and Debate tournament.
